PHILOSOPHER AND FOUNDER
Dr. Brennan Jacoby is the founder of Philosophy at Work. A philosophy PhD, Brennan has a knack for getting to the heart of what really matters and translating good ideas into actions that get results. Whether speaking, training, facilitating or writing, he helps clients think better so that they can do better.
Brennan has spent the last 6 years helping businesses address their most important issues. While he specialises on bringing a thoughtful approach to a range of topics from resilience, communication, innovation and leadership, his PhD analysed trust, and he has written, presented and trained widely on the topic of trustworthiness and how to build trust.
THE BIG IDEA
Brennan founded Philosophy at Work because he met so many representatives of organisations across sectors and industries who said, ‘the market is changing and we need our people to not only be technically excellent, but also be able to think their best and question the status quo’. In all of his work, Brennan’s aim is to assist organisations, and the teams and individuals they consist of to do substantive work that is based on careful thought and engaged with what really matters to them. He does this by bringing his philosophical perspective to matters his clients care about through his speaking and writing as well as by facilitating the development of thinking of others and training groups to engage their own critical thinking.
A UNIQUE OFFERING
Many academically trained philosophers would be excellent technicians of philosophy and many trainers would create a positive learning environment. Brennan’s unique offering is his ability to bring both philosophical insight and help others develop and apply their own good ideas. A highly experienced speaker, trainer and facilitator, Brennan’s approach is accessible and inviting with an emphasis on gaining clarity and insight for the sake of making a lasting impact. Recent groups he has worked with include: Deloitte, Media Arts Lab and Viacom.
“Dr. Brennan Jacoby is one of the most gifted facilitators I have worked with, with a talent for turning abstract scholarship into concrete, accessible and practical ideas that he communicates brilliantly.”
